BEARS RUNNING BACK MONANGAI SIDELINED WITH SOFT TISSUE INJURY
Kyle Monangai, running back for the Chicago Bears, has been absent from practice since the first day of training camp owing to a soft tissue injury. Ben Johnson, head coach of the Bears, disclosed the injury status at a Monday press conference. Johnson stated that Monangai's return to the field remains day-to-day and that the club does not expect his absence to extend beyond the short term.
Monangai completed his rookie season with 169 rushing attempts for 783 yards and five touchdowns. He also recorded 18 pass receptions for 164 yards. The 2025 seventh-round pick remains one of five running backs in Bears training camp, alongside D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, Brittain Brown, Salvon Ahmed and Coleman Bennett.
No timeline for Monangai's return has been confirmed. The Bears continue preparations ahead of the forthcoming season with their full roster of running back options available for selection during training sessions.
