MYLES GARRETT MISSES THIRD PRACTICE DAY WITH LOWER BODY SORENESS
Myles Garrett missed a third consecutive day of practice for the Los Angeles Rams owing to lower body soreness, according to head coach Sean McVay. McVay stated the defensive end's condition was not a cause for concern and that the team was taking a cautious approach to his management. McVay said Garrett would also miss the next practice session before the team's scheduled day off, after which his availability would be reassessed.
McVay described Garrett as "as tough as it gets" and noted that the Rams' medical staff, led by senior director of sports medicine and performance Reggie Scott, was overseeing his care. The coach said the team wanted to ensure Garrett felt as good as possible whilst building up tolerance for the season ahead. McVay stated he expected Garrett to be ready for the next training block.
Garrett, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year acquired by the Rams in the offseason, played all 17 games in each of the past two seasons and has missed only four games over the past six seasons, according to the report. The Rams are scheduled to play in Australia, and McVay said the team wanted Garrett to be fully ready for that fixture. The cautious load management approach mirrors a plan the Cleveland Browns previously used with Garrett that included built-in days off during the season.
