JADE GOODY'S WIDOWER JACK TWEED BANNED FROM DRIVING
Jack Tweed has been banned from driving for 12 months after admitting to driving under the influence of cannabis. Tweed, 39, entered a guilty plea at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Monday to driving a motor vehicle with a controlled drug above the specified limit. He was arrested on 6 December 2025 whilst driving a Volkswagen Golf on Three Mile Hill near Chelmsford, Essex. A blood sample recorded 5.6 micrograms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his system, exceeding the legal limit of two micrograms.
The court imposed a fine of £692, a surcharge of £277 and costs of £85. Tweed told the court he had used cannabis to help him sleep at night and had taken some the evening before, then driven the following morning. He stated he now works as an electrician with a monthly income of approximately £3,000. The court was told Tweed has seven previous convictions for 14 offences, including a 2007 conviction for driving with excess alcohol.
Magistrate Andrew McGregor imposed the statutory 12-month driving disqualification. Tweed told the court he had been working on alternative ways to manage depression and anxiety caused by trauma in his life, and expressed concern that a driving ban would impact his ability to move forward. He said he was sorry for the offence. Tweed was the widower of reality television personality Jade Goody, who died in 2009 aged 27 from cervical cancer weeks after the couple married.
