NINE-YEAR-OLD GIRL DIES AFTER INJURY AT ARBROATH INDUSTRIAL ESTATE
A nine-year-old girl died after being found seriously injured at Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath in the early hours of Monday, 3 August. Police Scotland officers were called to the site shortly after midnight. The girl was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where she later died. A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with her death.
Police Scotland said the death is being treated as suspicious and an investigation has been launched. Detective Superintendent Nicky McGovern stated that officers were called to the industrial estate at approximately 12:02am after the girl was found with serious injuries. The girl's family are being supported by specialist officers. Enquiries are continuing.
