BOY, 3, AIRLIFTED TO HOSPITAL AFTER STRUCK BY VAN AT CAMPSITE

A three-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after being struck by a van at Red House Farm, a family-run campsite in Earnley near Chichester, on Saturday, 1 August. The collision occurred at approximately 7.30pm, with witnesses reporting an air ambulance at the site on Bookers Lane at around 9pm. The boy was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Sussex Police confirmed that no arrests have been made and that enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

Red House Farm is located three miles from West Wittering Beach in Chichester. The campsite offers ten pitches for caravans and motorhomes, twenty spaces for tents, and four luxury glamping pods. The incident took place during what would typically be a busy period for the site during the school summer holidays. A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: "Emergency services responded to a collision at a campsite in Bookers Lane, Earnley, Chichester, at around 7.30pm on Saturday, August 1. A three-year-old boy was injured after he was involved in a collision with a van and he was taken to hospital for treatment."

The boy remains in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision. No further details regarding the incident have been released at this stage.
