JAKE PAUL OFFERS NFL PLAYERS $1M TO BOX HIM
Jake Paul issued a boxing challenge to NFL players on Saturday, offering $1 million to any who defeat him in the ring. Two-time Super Bowl winner Asante Samuel responded to the challenge on social media platform X with the word "Bet", signalling his willingness to accept. Former wide receiver Chad Johnson and cornerback Tay Gowan also indicated interest in participating.
The challenge follows Paul's recent statements to Front Office Sports, in which he claimed he could join an NFL roster and play as a slot receiver. Paul said he possessed superior athletic ability to many current NFL players, citing better hands, speed and strength, and stated that coaches from multiple teams had expressed interest in signing him. He added that he last played organised football at secondary school level at Westlake. Paul's claims prompted responses from multiple players willing to meet his boxing offer.
Paul's recent boxing record includes victories over former MMA competitors Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva, along with a bout against Mike Tyson in November 2024. His most recent fight ended in a sixth-round knockout loss to Anthony Joshua. The challenge marks the latest instance of Paul engaging with professional athletes across different sports.
