BAND OF BROTHERS MARKS 25 YEARS SINCE 2001 PREMIERE

SUN 02 AUG 2026

Band of Brothers, the 10-part drama created by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, marks its 25th anniversary this year. The series, which premiered in 2001, told the real-life story of Second World War American paratroopers from the Easy Company unit and their experiences in 1942. At the time of its release, it was the most expensive mini-series ever made, with reported production costs of $125 million. The drama is available to stream on HBO Max.

The series was based on Stephen E Ambrose's best-selling novel and achieved significant critical recognition. It earned seven Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Mini-Series, and received 20 Emmy Award nominations overall. The 10-episode run followed the deep bonds formed between the soldiers and depicted the heavy costs of warfare. Cast members from the production have since moved on to roles in major films and television shows.

The anniversary comes as fans continue to celebrate the drama's legacy. The show remains available for viewers to watch on the streaming platform.
