PRINCE LOUIS ATTENDS COMMONWEALTH GAMES WITH WILLIAM AND KATE
Prince Louis attended a netball semi-final at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on Saturday alongside Prince William, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The family watched Australia compete against Jamaica at the Hydro arena. Kensington Palace announced the visit that morning. The attendance marked Louis's first major sporting event and his first public appearance in Scotland.
Louis, aged eight, has previously attended set-piece royal events including Christmas and Easter church services and Trooping the Colour. His only prior public engagement was in May 2023, when he joined his parents and siblings at a volunteering initiative as part of the King's Coronation celebrations. His older siblings have frequently accompanied their parents to major sporting fixtures including football and tennis matches. The netball match was the women's semi-final at the Commonwealth Games.
William and Catherine are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay whilst in Scotland. The family's attendance at the Games was kept confidential until the day of the visit. Later on Saturday, William and Catherine were scheduled to spend additional time with Team Wales.
