HAERAN RYU LEADS WOMEN'S OPEN AT HALFWAY STAGE
Haeran Ryu of South Korea holds the halfway lead at the AIG Women's Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Course after sinking a birdie putt on the 18th hole. Ryu finished the second round on seven under par. The leaderboard places her ahead of the field at the championship.
Lottie Woad and Charley Hull both trail Ryu by five strokes after the halfway point. Hull and Woad occupy joint second position on the leaderboard. Ryu's position at the top follows a run of strong form across multiple major championships.
The Women's Open continues at Royal Lytham & St. Annes with the third and fourth rounds to follow. The tournament remains in progress with the final leaderboard yet to be determined. Hull and Woad remain within contention to close the gap on Ryu in subsequent rounds.
