CELTIC AND RANGERS CHASE FROSINONE WINGER GHEDJEMIS

Celtic and Rangers are both pursuing Fares Ghedjemis, a 23-year-old winger at Serie B club Frosinone, according to reports. The two Scottish clubs are considering making bids for the Algerian international. Interest in Ghedjemis also comes from clubs in England, Italy and the United States, which could complicate the Scottish sides' pursuit.

Celtic previously attempted to sign Ghedjemis in February, but talks stalled after the clubs failed to agree on the structure of a £6.5 million deal. Celtic subsequently signed Joel Mvuka on loan from FC Lorient instead. Ghedjemis recorded 15 goals and three assists in 38 games for Frosinone last season and earned a call-up to Algeria's World Cup squad, though he played only one minute during the tournament. Rangers, under new manager Derek McInnes, are seeking to strengthen their attacking options alongside their ongoing squad rebuilding.

Both Celtic and Rangers are in active recruitment phases as they prepare for the new Scottish Premiership campaign. The competition between the two clubs for Ghedjemis reflects their continued investment in their respective squads ahead of the forthcoming season.
