ADAM FROST CREDITS NICK KNOWLES FOR GARDENERS' WORLD CAREER
Gardeners' World presenter Adam Frost has said that DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles persuaded him to pursue a television career. Speaking to The i Newspaper, Frost stated: "If there were a human being that was to blame for me being on the telly, it would have to be Nick Knowles from DIY SOS." Frost joined DIY SOS as a guest garden designer around 2015 and has continued to make occasional appearances on the show. According to Frost's account, Knowles frequently encouraged him by saying: "You love talking about gardening, why wouldn't you want to talk to two million people?"
Frost joined Gardeners' World as a presenter in 2016, working alongside main host Monty Don. He admitted that he initially had reservations about the role, stating: "I spent the first couple of years at Gardeners' World thinking: 'What the hell am I doing?'" Over time, however, Frost came to value the position, recognising that it allowed him to discuss a subject he was passionate about with "nice people watching." He acknowledged that public recognition has changed his daily life, noting that people now approach him in public to discuss their gardens or request photographs, which he described as "an honour."
Frost is currently promoting a new gardening podcast called Outsiding, which he created with author Caitlin Moran. Speaking to House and Garden Magazine, he emphasised that garden design should reflect the owner's character and personality. He advised gardening enthusiasts not to pursue perfection, stating: "Don't chase perfection. At the end of the day, if the garden becomes a little bit overgrown, it's not the end of the world."
