WOMAN JAILED FOR NINE YEARS OVER EX-HUSBAND'S ACID ATTACK DEATH

FRI 31 JUL 2026 CRIME

Paris Wilson, 35, of Plymouth, has been jailed for nine years after being convicted of manslaughter and attempted kidnapping in connection with a sulphuric acid attack on her former partner Danny Cahalane. The attack took place at Mr Cahalane's home in Lipson Road, Plymouth, on 21 February 2025, leaving him with severe injuries from which he died on 3 May 2025. Two other men, Abdulrasheed Adedoja and Israel Augustus, both from London, were convicted of murder and sentenced to 31 and 30 years respectively. Ramarnee Bakas, also from London, was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years.

During the 15-week trial at Winchester Crown Court, the court heard that Mr Cahalane, 38, owed approximately £120,000 to an overseas crime boss and had been gambling with the money. Ms Justice Heather Norton stated that Adedoja maintained close contact with the drugs boss and was instrumental in planning serious harm to Mr Cahalane. Bakas provided practical support including a stolen vehicle, whilst Augustus was present and participated in the attack. Wilson, who devised the plot according to the judge's sentencing remarks, had liaised with a drug kingpin known as Frost and sent a text prior to the attack stating "I hope you and your butters girl both end up with acid in your faces".

The judge described Wilson's plot as "calculated but not sophisticated" and noted that she knew an acid attack could take place. Wilson wept in the dock as her sentence was passed. A previous attempted kidnapping of Mr Cahalane from his car had occurred in January 2025, from which he managed to escape. Mr Cahalane's young daughter was asleep upstairs at the time of the fatal attack on 21 February.
