THAI YOUTUBER HLUN SOLO FOUND DEAD IN TBILISI HOTEL ROOM

Hlun Solo, a Thai travel content creator known for documenting budget backpacking trips, was found dead in a hotel room in Tbilisi, Georgia on 30 July. His real name was Bowornthat Pengsuk and he was 27 years old. He lost contact with his family on 13 July whilst travelling alone, prompting a search that lasted more than two weeks before his body was discovered.

Georgian authorities have opened an investigation under Article 115 of the country's criminal code, which covers incitement to suicide but is routinely used for cases of unexplained death. Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated it is coordinating with the Royal Thai Embassy in Ankara and local Georgian authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding his death and to arrange repatriation of his body. His family has requested that speculation about the circumstances be avoided.

The investigation remains ongoing as Georgian and Thai officials work to determine what occurred during his solo trip. No further details regarding the circumstances of his death have been made public. His family has not released additional statements beyond their request for restraint in public commentary.
