JAKE PAUL PLANS MMA DEBUT IN 2027 AFTER BOXING RETURN
Jake Paul confirmed plans to compete in mixed martial arts in 2027, following a boxing return later this year. The announcement came after Most Valuable Promotions partnered with the Professional Fighters League to establish MVP MMA. Paul stated that negotiations had delayed the transition, but the merger now cleared the path for his move into combat sports.
Paul acknowledged he has not yet begun formal MMA training despite years of discussing an MMA debut. He noted a wrestling background from Division One competition in Ohio during his school years, though he described all other aspects of MMA as new to him. Paul said he remained uncertain how MMA training would differ from boxing preparation, given his lack of experience in the discipline.
The partnership between MVP and the PFL aims to establish an alternative to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, according to Paul. He stated the venture would offer fighters increased viewership and higher pay whilst competing directly with the UFC. Paul, aged 29, framed his MMA transition as part of a longer development process towards becoming a world champion.
