THREE JAILED FOR £225,000 RICHMOND JEWELLERY STORE RAID

Three men have been jailed following a daytime robbery at a jewellery store in Richmond. Deniz Mehmet, Robert Clarke and Lee Ramsey broke into Gregory & Co on 31 January, smashing the window with a sledgehammer and stealing £225,000 worth of items. The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation immediately after the incident, identifying the three men through CCTV footage and forensic analysis. All three pleaded guilty to the offence.

Clarke and Ramsey were arrested on 31 March after officers entered their bedrooms in Essex. Mehmet was arrested on the street on 8 April, also in Essex. During sentencing at Kingston Crown Court on 30 July, Mehmet, from Basildon, received a five-year sentence. Clarke, from Rochford, was sentenced to six-and-a-half years, whilst Ramsey, from Harlow, received five years and three months.

The sentencing concludes the police investigation into the robbery. All three men are now in custody serving their respective sentences.
