JOHN TRAVOLTA'S SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER SUIT TO BE AUCTIONED

John Travolta's white three-piece suit from Saturday Night Fever is expected to fetch up to $400,000 (£300,000) at auction. The suit, which includes a handwritten inscription from Travolta, will be the lead item at Propstore's Summer Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction in Los Angeles. The four-day sale runs from 26 to 29 August and features more than 1,700 lots of film and television memorabilia.

The entire memorabilia collection at the auction carries a combined pre-sale estimate of $10 million (£7 million). Other items offered include Frank the Rabbit's costume from Donnie Darko, a screen-matched mosquito preserved in amber from Jurassic Park, and an original Golden Snitch from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The auction represents one of the largest collections of entertainment memorabilia offered for sale this year.

Propstore, a specialist auction house for film and television artefacts, regularly handles high-value items from major studio productions. The sale proceeds through an online and in-person format. No reserve prices or buyer details have been disclosed at this stage.
