BOY, 12, DIES AFTER FALL FROM BARN ROOF IN COUNTY DURHAM
Jaxon Hubery, aged 12, from Bishop Auckland, died on Tuesday following injuries sustained in a fall from a barn roof. The fall occurred at a premises in Woodhouses, Bishop Auckland, at approximately 2.45pm on Friday whilst he was with friends. Jaxon was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for treatment but died as a result of his injuries. Durham Constabulary is investigating the circumstances of the incident in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive.
The boy fell from the roof of a derelict barn in the area. He was with friends at the time of the fall. His family expressed gratitude to those who offered support during the period between his injury and death.
Jaxon's family has urged other parents to keep their children away from the location where the incident occurred. Durham Constabulary and the Health and Safety Executive continue their investigation into how the fall happened. No further details regarding the circumstances have been released at this stage.
