JORDAN MILITARY SAYS IT INTERCEPTED FIVE IRANIAN MISSILES

Jordan's military stated that the country's air defences intercepted and destroyed five missiles launched from Iran in the early hours of Wednesday. The military did not report any casualties resulting from the interception. The statement came as the U.S. military reported that it had intercepted an Iranian missile barrage directed at American forces in the Middle East.

According to U.S. Central Command, all Iranian missiles launched against American forces in the region were intercepted. The U.S. military also reported that it worked alongside Saudi Arabian forces to strike sites in Iraq used by Tehran-backed militias to launch attacks in recent days. The strikes followed a period of relative calm in the conflict between American and Iranian forces.

The incident marked an escalation in tensions between the United States and Iran. The attacks were attributed to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The U.S. military's involvement in air operations across the region, alongside regional allies, underscored the broader military activity in the Middle East following the resumption of hostile actions.
