PALESTINIAN QUARRY OWNER APPEALS TO TRUMP AFTER SETTLER ATTACK

TUE 28 JUL 2026 NORTH AMERICA

A Palestinian-American quarry owner in the occupied West Bank has called on President Trump to intervene following an attack by Israeli settlers on his facility. The attackers set machinery on fire and assaulted guards working at the quarry. The incident occurred days after a series of deadly settler violence incidents across the region.

According to the UN humanitarian agency OCHA, settler-related incidents in the occupied West Bank have totalled 1,330 since January. The agency recorded at least eight Palestinians killed last week alone, including a child. Two Israeli settlers were also killed during the same period, whilst at least ten families have been forced from their homes.

The attack on the quarry represents part of a broader pattern of violence that has escalated in recent months. The timing of the quarry owner's appeal to President Trump reflects the involvement of American citizens in disputes within the occupied territories. The UN figures indicate the scale of the ongoing settler-related violence affecting both Palestinian and Israeli communities.
