RICHARD HAMMOND FINED £1,771 FOR TWO SPEEDING OFFENCES
Television presenter Richard Hammond was fined a total of £1,771 after pleading guilty to two speeding offences in Herefordshire last December. On 2 December, his Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo was recorded travelling at 68mph in a 50mph zone. On 22 December, his Bentley Continental GT was clocked at 82mph in a 70mph zone. Hammond pleaded guilty through his lawyers at Telford Magistrates' Court.
The court ordered Hammond to pay two separate fines totalling £999, alongside £240 in costs and £532 in victim surcharges. Seven penalty points were added to his driving licence. West Mercia Police initially experienced difficulties locating Hammond, with speeding tickets sent to multiple properties returned marked "addressee gone away" before officers eventually tracked him to his residence in Wales.
The offences occurred within a three-week period in December. Hammond is known for his work on the BBC television programme Top Gear.
