REFORM REPORTS GREEN PARTY LEADER OVER FARAGE T-SHIRT IMAGE
Reform UK has reported Green Party of England and Wales leader Zack Polanski to the police over an Instagram post featuring a photograph of a man wearing a T-shirt bearing an image of a guillotine alongside the slogan "We're only making plans for Nigel." Polanski shared the image from a Green Party event in Bristol before deleting the post. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage stated on social media that he would expect to be arrested if he posted content of similar nature, and called for Polanski's arrest.
A Green Party spokesperson said Polanski had accepted a request to collaborate on a post with multiple images at a public event, and immediately unshared the photograph once the image was brought to his attention. The spokesperson added that Polanski "does not support this type of dangerous message." Farage wrote on X that the post was "inciteful," using that exact spelling in his statement calling for arrest.
The incident prompted responses beyond the two parties involved. Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, known online as Tommy Robinson, posted commentary on the matter on social media, stating that "the left wants us all dead" and referencing attacks on Conservative politician Ann Widdecombe. Police have received the report from Reform UK regarding the post, though no charges have been announced.
