JERRY JEUDY DENIES CALLING FOR WATSON AS BROWNS STARTER
Jerry Jeudy has said he did not endorse Deshaun Watson as the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback, despite a video circulating on social media in which he appeared to signal Watson's shirt number. The wide receiver responded to posts on Sunday, stating that the video was edited and that he does not comment on personnel decisions. Jeudy recorded 602 receiving yards and two touchdowns for the Browns last season, his third with the franchise.
The Browns rotated three quarterbacks last season—Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders—as the team finished 5–12. Watson, who signed a five-year fully guaranteed contract worth $230 million with Cleveland, has recovered from a ruptured Achilles tendon that required two surgeries and sidelined him throughout 2025. Watson has not played a full season since 2020, having also served an 11-game suspension in 2023 following accusations of sexual misconduct during massage sessions by more than two dozen women.
Watson and Sanders are expected to compete for the starting role during training camp this autumn. Jeudy stated in his response that he supports his teammates and focuses on his own performance rather than involving himself in such decisions. He called for an end to the creation of false narratives around the quarterback position.
