MAYA JAMA IN TALKS TO RETURN FOR THIRD SERIES OF THE GENTLEMEN

Maya Jama is in negotiations to sign up for the third series of Netflix drama The Gentlemen after impressing bosses during filming of the second season. The Love Island host appeared briefly in the trailer for the upcoming second series, which will premiere on 3 September, alongside actors Theo James and Kaya Scodelario. According to reports, her performance during the second series filming has prompted Netflix to consider bringing her back for a further instalment of the show.

The Gentlemen has become one of Netflix's most-watched series in recent years, attracting 44 million views within four weeks of its initial release. The second season follows character Eddie Halstead, played by Theo James, a year after he joined forces with Bobby Glass, portrayed by Ray Winstone, to secure a criminal empire abroad. Jama's role in the series involves playing the wife of Theo James's counterpart, with a brief scene in the trailer showing her responding to James's greeting "How do you do?" with "I do very well."

A source told reports that Jama's involvement could represent a significant career step, describing her as delivering an impressive performance despite her limited screen time in the current season. The potential role comes as Jama prepares to conclude her work on Love Island ahead of the final next week. The series also features actors Vinnie Jones, Joely Richardson and Daniel Ings.
