AZZI FUDD WINS WNBA 3-POINT CONTEST AS FIRST ROOKIE CHAMPION

SAT 25 JUL 2026

Azzi Fudd of the Dallas Wings became the first rookie to win the State Farm WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest. Fudd scored 30 points in the championship round, knocking down her first six and last eight shots to defeat Portland Fire's Bridget Carleton, who finished with 19 points. The performance matched Sabrina Ionescu's winning score from the previous season and set a record for the highest-scoring final round by a rookie in the contest's history. A video captured Fudd celebrating with teammate Paige Bueckers immediately after her victory.

Fudd advanced to the final after scoring 24 points in the opening round. Carleton led after the first round with 29 points, made from 13 of her first 16 attempts, but could not replicate that performance in the championship. The Atlanta Dream's Rhyne Howard finished third with 20 points, whilst Golden State Valkyries forward Janelle Salaün scored 19, Toronto Tempo guard Marina Mabrey scored 18, and Seattle Storm guard Natisha Hiedeman scored 17.

Under the WNBA's current collective bargaining agreement, Fudd received a $20,000 winner's bonus from the league. All participants in the contest received $10,000 for competing. Aflac contributed additional funds to the prize pool, as it had done in the previous two years. Elena Delle Donne, Shakira Austin and GG Banks earlier carried Team Washington to victory in the WNBA Shooting Stars competition.
