NEWCASTLE MONITORING BOLOGNA WINGER JONATHAN ROWE
Newcastle United are monitoring Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe as a potential signing, according to reports. Aston Villa also hold an interest in the 23-year-old, creating competition for his signature. Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea have also enquired about Rowe's availability. Newcastle view Rowe as a possible replacement for Anthony Gordon, who departed for Barcelona earlier this summer.
Rowe joined Bologna from Marseille last summer and has established himself as a key attacking player for the Serie A club. During the current season, he recorded eight goals and four assists across all competitions. Newcastle's interest comes as the club faces the prospect of further squad departures this summer, with midfielder Sandro Tonali having already left and midfielder Bruno Guimaraes linked with a move to Arsenal.
Newcastle's manager Eddie Howe is seeking reinforcements to maintain the club's challenge for a European qualification spot next season. The club's hierarchy regard Rowe's pace and attacking output as qualities that could fill the void left by Gordon's departure. Multiple Premier League clubs are closely monitoring Rowe's situation in Italy.
