£20,000 REWARD OFFERED FOR INFORMATION ON MISSING CARDIFF MUM
South Wales Police have re-issued a £20,000 reward for information on Charlene Hobbs, who disappeared in Cardiff two years ago on 24 July 2024. The force believes Hobbs may have been murdered. The reward, administered through the independent charity Crimestoppers, is available for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. South Wales Police stated that Hobbs's family remain "desperate for answers" as the investigation continues.
A mobile phone photograph taken at 6.07am on the morning of her disappearance at a property in Broadway, Adamsdown, remains the last confirmed sighting of Hobbs. The day before, on 23 July 2024, she was captured on CCTV at Morrisons Local in Adamsdown, where she had her hair in a bun and wore a dark, strapless top with a distinctive dragon tattoo visible on her back. Despite extensive searches and police investigations, Hobbs has not been found. The inquiry has involved officers speaking to hundreds of people and visiting hundreds of properties across Cardiff. In January 2025, specialist search teams conducted extensive searches of parkland at Moorland Gardens in Splott.
Information given exclusively to Crimestoppers will qualify for the reward; information provided directly to police will not. South Wales Police said detectives still need members of the public to come forward with information to resolve the case.
