MAXENCE LACROIX UNDERGOES CHELSEA MEDICAL AHEAD OF £52M MOVE
Maxence Lacroix has undergone a medical examination ahead of joining Chelsea from Crystal Palace, according to reports. The transfer fee has been reported as approximately £52m to £55m. Lacroix, a France international defender, will leave Palace after the club agreed to his departure.
Crystal Palace have moved to secure a replacement for Lacroix by making a formal offer to Bundesliga club Augsburg for defender Chrislain Matsima. According to one report, Palace tabled a €20m (£17m) offer for the 24-year-old, which Augsburg rejected. Augsburg are expected to receive a fresh bid from Palace, with reports suggesting a deal may be imminent. Palace and Matsima have already agreed terms on personal contract details, with the player keen to join the Premier League club.
The transfer activity comes as Crystal Palace prepare for a new era under manager Pierre Sage, following the departure of Oliver Glasner at the end of the previous campaign. Palace are undertaking a squad overhaul as they begin their championship under the new leadership.
