NATHAN SUSSEX CONFIRMS CORONATION STREET ROLE
Actor Nathan Sussex has confirmed he is joining Coronation Street, posting a photograph from the ITV soap's Salford-based set on social media. Sussex, known for playing sex offender Buster Smith in Channel 4's Hollyoaks, posed outside the Rovers Return and wrote that "there's a new boy in Weatherfield very soon." According to one report, his character will interact with Sally and Tim Metcalfe, though Coronation Street has not released details of his role or storyline.
Sussex's post drew messages of support from television figures including Carol Vorderman, who described him as one of her best friends and said his episodes would air "soonish". Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley responded with a heart emoji and the message "Reunited", to which Sussex replied "Can't get rid of me babes". Actress Sian Gibson also posted a supportive comment.
Coronation Street's producer Kate Brooks has previously confirmed to press that Sally and Tim Metcalfe will face a significant story that tests them "as people, as a couple, but also as foster parents". The exact nature of Sussex's involvement in that storyline remains unconfirmed by the soap itself, though his social media posts suggest filming has already taken place.
