PHIL FODEN SIGNS NEW MANCHESTER CITY CONTRACT UNTIL 2030

Phil Foden has signed a new contract with Manchester City that will keep him at the club until June 2030, with an option for a further year. The England international joined City's academy as a child and made his senior debut in 2017. Foden said in a statement that committing his future to the club "means everything to me" and that playing for Manchester City is "all I've ever wanted to do".

The 26-year-old has made 418 appearances for Manchester City, scoring 114 goals and providing 78 assists according to figures provided by the club. During his time at the Etihad Stadium, he has won six Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, three FA Cups, five League Cups, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and two Community Shields. According to one report, Arsenal were among three Premier League clubs that explored the possibility of signing Foden before he committed to Manchester City.

Foden stated that his focus remains on winning further trophies with the club. He thanked Manchester City's staff, teammates and supporters for their continued backing. The new contract secures one of the Premier League's established players for Manchester City as the club prepares for the forthcoming season under head coach Enzo Maresca.
