STRICTLY HOST WIDDICOMBE HIT BY PASSENGER OVER PLANE SEAT ROW

Josh Widdicombe, host of Strictly Come Dancing, was struck in the back by a plane passenger during a flight home from Greece, the presenter has revealed. Widdicombe placed his foot on the arm of an empty seat to tie his shoelace whilst waiting to use the toilet at the front of the aircraft. A woman in the adjacent seat objected, stating the empty seat belonged to her husband. Widdicombe apologised and removed his foot, but the situation escalated when the woman's husband emerged from the toilet and struck him as he passed.

Widdicombe, 43, described the sequence of events whilst speaking on the Parenting Hell podcast. He explained that he had perched on the arm of the end empty seat after noticing his shoelace was undone. The woman's initial objection came before her husband left his seat. Widdicombe said he complied with the woman's complaint, but she continued to remonstrate with him. The husband's physical response came moments after he exited the toilet cubicle.

The incident occurred during a family holiday return journey. Widdicombe did not report any injuries resulting from the strike. No details have emerged regarding any intervention by cabin crew or further consequences from the incident.
