CARDINALS TIGHT END TRAVIS VOKOLEK RETIRES AT 28 AFTER NECK INJURY
Travis Vokolek has retired from the NFL at the age of 28 following medical advice about a serious neck injury sustained during the 2025 season. Vokolek announced his retirement on social media, stating that he had been advised to medically retire after numerous visits with doctors and neurologists. He did not play again after suffering the injury, which ended his career with the Arizona Cardinals.

Medical personnel stabilised his head and neck before removing him from the field on a stretcher. One account reported that he had suffered both a neck injury and a concussion. Vokolek originally entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 and had earned a starting role with the Cardinals in his final season.
In his retirement statement, Vokolek expressed gratitude to his teammates, coaches, trainers and family, particularly his wife. He thanked the Arizona Cardinals training staff for their support during his recovery. Vokolek stated that he had approached his professional football career with passion, determination and discipline, and that he had left everything on the field.
