EXPRESSVPN ADDS PASSKEY SIGN-IN TO ACCOUNT DASHBOARD
ExpressVPN has introduced passkey sign-in, allowing users to access their accounts without entering a password. The feature was announced on Tuesday and uses the device's existing screen lock — such as fingerprint or face recognition — to authenticate login attempts. Passwords remain available as a backup option. The passkey system replaces a traditional password with a pair of cryptographic keys, which the company states makes accounts more resistant to phishing attacks.
The passkey launch forms part of a broader redesign of the ExpressVPN+ dashboard, which consolidates account management into a single interface. Previously, users navigated between separate applications and account pages. The redesigned dashboard displays active protections, installed products and any items requiring attention. Depending on subscription tier and region, the dashboard can integrate data from tools including ExpressKeys and Identity Defender, and allows users to purchase and manage travel eSIMs through holiday.com from the same location.
The change addresses a common usability challenge when setting up VPN access on new devices, which previously required password entry. ExpressVPN positions the passwordless sign-in as a convenience improvement alongside the broader dashboard redesign. The company stated the feature is now available to users, though rollout across all regions and subscription plans may be gradual.
