OLIVIA WILDE SAYS SHE DEEPLY RESENTS ELON MUSK
Olivia Wilde has stated that she has grown to "deeply resent" Elon Musk after their relationship dynamic shifted over the years. Speaking on The Louis Theroux Podcast, the actress and director recalled meeting Musk at SpaceX when she was involved with an organisation in Haiti building hospitals and schools. Wilde said Musk expressed interest in donating money to support the initiative and that he did contribute financially to it. She described him at that time as "really smart" and willing to support charitable work.
Wilde claimed that Musk's public views have changed dramatically since their meeting, leading her to see him differently. She criticised what she described as powerful men believing they can solve human problems by controlling society and women's choices, and linked Musk's comments about an "underpopulation crisis" to a broader pattern of male authority over women's bodies and futures. Wilde described Musk as having "turned into this creature" and stated: "I really resent him now, I really deeply resent him." Musk has not publicly responded to Wilde's comments.
The comments come as Musk faced criticism for remarks about casting in Christopher Nolan's film The Odyssey, in which he accused Nolan of being an "anti-white racist" for recruiting a black woman for a role. Nolan responded to backlash over some casting choices by calling such criticism "irrelevant." Wilde's latest film, The Invite, has recently been released in cinemas.
