MAN ADMITS 26 VOYEURISM CHARGES AFTER FILMING WOMEN THROUGH WINDOWS

TUE 21 JUL 2026 CRIME

Anthony Durkan, 36, from Islington in North London, has admitted to 26 voyeurism charges relating to filming women without their knowledge or consent through the windows of their homes. He pleaded guilty to 19 offences at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, adding to seven previous guilty pleas entered on 26 March at the same court. The charges relate to incidents that took place between January 2020 and March 2026, with the majority occurring in the past year. Durkan was arrested after doorbell footage captured him filming through a woman's windows in the early hours of the morning.

His mobile device was found to contain a concealed gallery holding footage described as numbering in the hundreds, depicting women "in various states of undress" within their own homes. The Metropolitan Police prosecutor Edward Kalber told the court that Durkan "poses a real risk to women and girls in our communities". A woman first alerted officers in January 2026 after an unidentified man repeatedly visited her Islington home to film through her windows during early morning hours. Police have not confirmed whether this incident matches Durkan's admissions.

The Metropolitan Police have issued a public appeal for potential further victims to come forward, asking women across north London to report any unusual activity around their homes, particularly late at night or in the early hours, between January 2020 and March 2026. Officers stated they are working to trace additional victims following the discovery of further material on Durkan's device. No sentencing date has been confirmed.
