MATTY HEALY MARRIES MODEL GABBRIETTE IN LOS ANGELES

Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975, married American model Gabbriette Bechtel on Saturday in Los Angeles. The ceremony was attended by family and close friends, according to a statement from the couple's representatives. Singer Charli XCX was among the guests at the three-day wedding celebration. Photographs showed Healy dipping his wife during their first dance as a married couple.

Healy is 37 years old and Bechtel is 28. The couple became engaged in June 2024 after Bechtel posted a photograph of herself wearing a large black ring on Instagram, captioning it "Marrying The 1975 is very brat." Healy reposted the image on his own social media account. Bechtel had previously been linked to Healy after his brief relationship with Taylor Swift in 2023. Denise Welch, Healy's mother, confirmed the engagement on the television programme Loose Women, stating she had known of the engagement for several weeks before the couple made the announcement publicly.

Welch, known for her television roles in Coronation Street, Waterloo Road and Hollyoaks and as a panellist on Loose Women, described the wedding weekend on Instagram as "the most magical 3 days of my life." She posted photographs and videos with friends, including her Coronation Street co-star Sally Dynevor, and referenced spending time with "all the aunties together in LA." Welch shared that the couple had visited friends in New York before the wedding took place.
