HOLLY WILLOUGHBY LAUNCHES YOUTUBE COMEBACK AFTER KIDNAP PLOT

TUE 21 JUL 2026 CRIME

Holly Willoughby has announced her return to broadcasting with a new YouTube series called Holly Willoughby Together, following a period away from the spotlight after the discovery of a kidnap plot against her. Gavin Plumb, 39, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 16 years after police uncovered his plan. Willoughby, 45, stepped down from ITV's This Morning in 2023 and ceased presenting Dancing On Ice when the show was rested in March 2025. She told Grazia: "When something like that happens, suddenly everything else gets put into perspective and you know what? I don't fear what people think because I know what real fear feels like."

Willoughby fronted This Morning for 14 years before departing months after her co-host Phillip Schofield left the show following the revelation of an "unwise, but not illegal" affair with a young male colleague. Willoughby said she needed time away to process the ordeal and spend time with her family. She told The Mirror: "I needed a bit of time out, just to come to terms with everything. I needed a little space and time with family and my friends, just to be away from work." She credited her children Harry, Belle and Chester, along with her husband Dan, with supporting her through the difficult period.

Holly Willoughby Together is a lifestyle series featuring celebrity guests including Stanley Tucci, Nicole Appleton, Katherine Ryan, Emma Bunton, Rob Beckett and Joanne McNally. The show covers cooking tutorials, fashion advice, beauty, health and wellness tips. Willoughby said she had been uncertain about returning to television but felt ready to move forward. Dan's company Hungry Bear is producing the series.
