BOY, 3, DIES AFTER FALLING INTO POND IN CROSBY

A three-year-old boy has died after falling into a pond on Brownmoor Lane in Crosby, Merseyside, on Saturday evening. Emergency services were called to the address following reports that the child had fallen into the water. Both Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service attended the incident. The boy was taken by ambulance to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

According to Merseyside Police, the death is not believed to be suspicious. Officers are continuing to provide support to the boy's family. Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that emergency services were called to an address on Brownmoor Lane in Crosby on Saturday evening (July 18) following a report a three-year-old boy had fallen into a pond. The North West Ambulance Service and police attended and the child was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment where he was sadly pronounced deceased. Our officers continue to support the family and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened."
