FIRE CREWS TACKLE BLAZE AT ARTHUR'S SEAT IN EDINBURGH
Fire crews responded to a blaze at Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh on Sunday evening, according to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS). The SFRS dispatched four appliances to the scene. No casualties were reported in connection with the incident at the Edinburgh landmark.
The fire at Arthur's Seat occurred whilst the SFRS continued to battle a separate wildfire in the Cairngorms, which had been burning since Wednesday. Officials from Cairngorms park stated that the wildfire had burnt approximately four square kilometres at its peak. Park officials described the Cairngorms fire as "largely surrounded" and under control by Sunday.
Residents who had been evacuated from the Cairngorms area were expected to return to their homes later on Sunday, according to park officials. The incidents represented a significant operational commitment for Scottish fire and rescue services across multiple locations within a single week.
