SCOTLAND DEFEATS FIJI IN NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP AT MURRAYFIELD
Scotland defeated Fiji 33–17 in a Nations Championship match at Murrayfield on Saturday. The victory gave Scotland a bonus point. Fiji scored three tries through Tevita Ikanivere, Selestino Ravutaumada and Elia Canakaivata, with Armstrong-Ravula converting one. Scotland's points came from two tries by Jamie Dobie, and single tries from Jonny Gray, Pierre Schoeman and Scott Cummings, with conversions from Horne and Burke.
Fiji controlled the opening half, playing attacking rugby whilst Scotland produced what was described as a pedestrian display. Scotland made fourteen changes to the team that played South Africa the previous week. The momentum shifted after half-time when Scotland manager Gregor Townsend introduced substitutes Schoeman and Dobie, both of whom scored shortly after entering the field. Dobie added a second try late in the match. Sione Tuipulotu's introduction also contributed to Scotland's improved performance as Fiji's intensity waned.
The result concluded Scotland's autumn campaign. Fiji had suffered a heavy defeat to England seven days prior to facing Scotland, but demonstrated improved form at Murrayfield despite the loss.
