JOSH ADAMS RULED OUT OF WALES TEST AGAINST SOUTH AFRICA

SAT 18 JUL 2026 RUGBY

Wales have lost wing Josh Adams to a calf injury ahead of Saturday's Nations Championship match against South Africa in Durban. Adams was selected by Steve Tandy but did not participate fully in final training on Friday and was withdrawn before the warm-up. Ellis Mee will replace him in the starting line-up for the fixture at Kings Park, which kicks off at 16:40 BST.

Adams had started all of Wales' games in 2026 and scored a try against Fiji in the opening Nations Championship fixture. The 31-year-old also scored in Wales' first-ever victory on South African soil during the 2022 summer Tests. Mee had been set to miss out on the fixture after Wales recalled Louis Rees-Zammit to the bench following the side's 35-21 defeat to Argentina.

The match will be refereed by Andrew Brace of the Irish Rugby Football Union, with assistant referees Pierre Brousset of the French Rugby Federation and James Doleman of New Zealand Rugby. The fixture will be broadcast live on S4C and BBC Radio Wales, with commentary also available via BBC Sounds and the BBC Sport website and app.
