TESLA LAUNCHES $225 BALANCE BIKE FOR TODDLERS
Tesla has released a balance bike priced at $225 aimed at children aged 2 to 5, according to product information on the company's website. The bike features a five-way adjustable seat, no pedals or brakes, and bears the Tesla logo on its frame. The product sold out by Friday, though the initial stock quantity remains unknown. Tesla is also offering a matching T-shirt for $30.
The balance bike is non-motorised and relies entirely on a child's leg power to move. The manufacturer recommends it for children with a minimum leg length of 13.7 inches and a maximum weight limit of 77.1 pounds, though product documentation lists a maximum age of either 5 or 6 years depending on the source. Tesla has previously developed other child-focused products, including an electric-powered ride-on Cybertruck for Kids priced at $1,500 and a Cyberquad all-terrain vehicle for $1,650. The company partnered with Radio Flyer on a Tesla Model S for Kids, which has since been discontinued, though replacement parts remain available.
The Cyberquad was previously recalled owing to safety violations concerning its mechanical suspension and maximum tyre pressure. Elon Musk has stated publicly that he considers electric bikes dangerous, citing a teenage accident, and said the company would not produce them. Tesla did not respond to a request for additional comment on the balance bike launch.
