WORLD CUP STARS ATTRACT SUMMER TRANSFER INTEREST
Several players have drawn attention from major European clubs following their performances at the World Cup, with transfer activity expected across the top leagues this summer. Bradley Barcola, a forward for Paris St-Germain, has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal after impressing for France throughout the tournament. Ayyoub Bouaddi, an 18-year-old midfielder from Lille, has attracted interest from Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris St-Germain following his displays for Morocco. Yan Diomande, a 19-year-old winger, featured prominently for Ivory Coast before the side's elimination at the group stage.
Barcola made 49 appearances for PSG in all competitions during the club season whilst winning a second successive Champions League title. The 23-year-old appeared in all seven of France's World Cup matches, starting four and scoring twice. Bouaddi impressed in Morocco's opening draw with Brazil, where he controlled midfield play against established names including Casemiro and Bruno Guimaraes. Diomande was among the standout performers during the group stage before Ivory Coast's elimination following defeat by Norway.
Several major World Cup participants have already agreed transfer deals ahead of the 2026-27 season, including Marc Cucurella, Elliot Anderson and Youri Tielemans. These moves represent part of a broader pattern of player movements typically inspired by World Cup performances. The transfer window is expected to remain active as clubs pursue players who have raised their profiles through international competition.
