SCARLETS SIGN NEW ZEALAND LOCK TOM ALLEN FROM HURRICANES
Scarlets have signed lock Tom Allen from Hurricanes, the Super Rugby Pacific champions. Allen, 21, made 12 appearances for New Zealand Under-20s before playing in the National Provincial Championship with Auckland. He featured twice off the bench during Hurricanes' most recent season, when the club won their first Super Rugby championship trophy in 10 years.
Allen is Scarlets' seventh summer signing. The club has also recruited back-rower Cullen Grace from Crusaders and full-back Isaac Murray-Macgregor, a 20-year-old with Welsh qualification, from the Canterbury and Crusaders pathway. Scarlets have additionally signed loose-head prop Corey Domachowski from Cardiff, hookers John McKee and George Roberts, and lock Harvey Cuckson permanently from Bath following two loan spells in the 2025-26 season.
Nigel Davies, Scarlets' director of rugby, described Allen as an exciting prospect, noting his ambition and hunger to improve. Scarlets finished 14th of 16 in the United Rugby Championship in the past season. The club begins the new campaign at home against Welsh rivals Cardiff on Saturday, 26 September.
