TOMMY ROBINSON ADMITS FALSE ACCUSATION AGAINST GLASGOW MAN

WED 15 JUL 2026

Tommy Robinson has issued a correction after falsely accusing a man of filming children in a Glasgow park. Video footage of Quoroum Beg holding a mobile phone circulated on social media last Sunday, which Robinson shared to his followers whilst labelling Beg an "invader". Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, posted on X stating: "In this instance I got it wrong, as did many others." Beg was in fact filming an anti-immigration demonstration that had forced him and his children to leave the park in the city's Gorbals area.

Beg attended the park on Sunday evening with his children and became aware of the demonstration approaching at approximately 21:00. He returned to the park after walking his children home to retrieve his car, where he filmed the protesters on his mobile phone. Police advised him this action might inflame the situation, so he moved to sit on children's swings. Demonstrators present filmed him at this point and posted the footage online, which Robinson subsequently shared to approximately two million followers.

Beg told BBC Scotland News that Robinson's correction falls short of a full apology, asking whether Robinson was apologising for inaccuracy or for the harm caused. Beg, who works full-time in Glasgow and has three children, has expressed fear for his safety following the incident. Police have provided him with an emergency contact number to call if he feels threatened. Beg stated his reputation has been "tarnished through the world" as a result of Robinson's posts.
