ITV CHEF PARVEEN ASHRAF RETURNS TO WORK AFTER HUSBAND'S DEATH
Parveen Ashraf, an ITV chef known professionally as Parveen the Spice Queen, has announced plans to return to work six months after her husband died during a robbery in Ghana. Ashraf, 61, shared the news in a video posted to Instagram, saying she was considering what a return to employment might entail. She stated that her husband of 38 years would not have wanted her to "wallow in self-pity" following his death. The chef said she had been away from public life since the tragedy occurred.
Ashraf's husband, Ashraf Qamar Parvez, 68, was killed in November 2025 whilst at a drinking spot in Tema, near Accra. According to one report, Parvez was shot after attempting to prevent thieves from stealing his mobile phone. He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries. Parvez had been living in Ghana at the time of his death. Ashraf first made the death public in December 2025, describing it as "tragic and sudden".
Ashraf rose to prominence through her television series Parveen's Indian Kitchen. She marked her husband's death with a tribute post in early July, ahead of announcing her intention to return to work. In her recent video message, she addressed her husband directly, saying "Rest in peace my darling".
