CARL'S JR SWANSEA RESTAURANT CLOSES AFTER NINE MONTHS

WED 15 JUL 2026

Carl's Jr closed its Swansea restaurant on Wind Street and converted the site to delivery-only operations from 14 July. The US burger chain shut the location overnight, removing signage and covering windows despite operating as recently as the previous weekend. The restaurant had opened in September 2025 at the location, which Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG), the chain's UK franchise owner, confirmed had ceased dine-in service.

BRG stated the decision followed a period of trading and evaluation, citing stronger customer demand for food delivery in Swansea. A spokesperson for the group said the Swansea location had demonstrated significant demand through delivery channels, prompting the shift to a delivery-focused operation. The closure leaves Carl's Jr with one full-service restaurant in Wales at St David's Shopping Centre in Cardiff, which opened in early 2025 and which BRG said continues to perform well.

The delivery-only kitchen will continue serving Carl's Jr's full menu through existing delivery partners, with BRG stating customers across Swansea will be able to continue accessing the brand's signature burgers without interruption. BRG characterised the move as a strategic decision intended to strengthen long-term growth plans and direct investment toward locations with greater potential. The Swansea restaurant has been removed from Carl's Jr's website and is listed as permanently closed on Google Maps.
