THREE MEN JAILED FOR 21 YEARS FOR RAPING WOMAN ON BRIGHTON BEACH
Three men have been jailed at Hove Crown Court for raping a woman on Brighton beach in the early hours of 4 October 2025. Abdulla Ahmadi, aged 26 from Iran, and Ibrahim Alshafe, aged 26 from Egypt, each received 21-year sentences. Karin Al-Danasurt, aged 21 from Egypt, was convicted of rape as a secondary party for filming the attack and was sentenced to 18 years and six months. Each man will serve an additional six years on extended licence following their release and must serve two-thirds of their sentence before becoming eligible for parole consideration.
Her Honour Judge Christine Henson KC described the attack as "entirely predatory and callous". The court heard that the three men had visited bars and nightclubs on Brighton seafront and were on the lookout for women for sexual purposes that night. After leaving a club, they encountered the woman at a fast-food restaurant and subsequently went to the beach together. Prosecutor Hanna Llewellyn-Waters KC told the court that the men treated the victim with contempt and further degraded her throughout the assault.
In a statement read to the court, the victim said the attack had a profound and life-changing impact on her. She stated that intrusive memories persisted, describing hearing laughter and environmental sounds when she closed her eyes. The judge told the defendants that their arrogant and entitled attitude during the incident continued throughout their trial and demonstrated ongoing contempt for the victim.
