RAPPER SUES LOBBYISTS OVER FAILED $600,000 PARDON DEAL
Rapper Boosie Badazz has filed a lawsuit against conservative operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, claiming he paid them $600,000 to secure a presidential pardon from Donald Trump that never materialised. Badazz, born Torence Hatch, pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a felon in August 2025. He engaged Wohl and Burkman because he believed they could help him obtain a pardon before sentencing. According to Badazz's account, the pair told his lawyer on New Year's Day that they had secured the pardon, though the White House had not yet announced it.
Badazz was sentenced in January to three years of supervised release, 300 hours of community service and a $50,000 fine. He is now suing for $300,000, claiming a contract clause stipulated that half the fee would be refunded if no pardon was delivered. Wohl and Burkman have denied that any refund agreement existed. According to reports, both men are on probation after pleading guilty to an illegal robocall scheme in connection with the 2020 election. Wohl and Burkman have stated they are "effectively bankrupt" and unable to pay, owing millions of dollars in fines from previous legal matters.
Burkman told a media outlet that Badazz has no reason for complaint, stating that in 30 years of lobbying work, he and his partner had rarely undertaken more extensive efforts on any client's behalf. The lawsuit remains pending, with the central dispute centring on whether the refund clause existed in the original contract between the parties.
