WIFE HOLDS HUSBAND'S LEGS AS HE HANGS FROM RYANAIR JET AT 20,000FT
Ljubiša Karović, from Serbia, was left hanging outside a Ryanair aircraft during flight on Friday after part of the engine broke away. His wife, Svetlana Grković, held on to his feet whilst he remained suspended outside the aircraft at 20,000 feet. According to reports, Grković stated: "If we die, we die together." The aircraft returned to land safely, with Karović surviving the incident.
The incident occurred when engine damage caused the window to fail mid-flight. Grković's actions prevented Karović from being pulled further out of the aircraft whilst crew members worked to secure the situation. The exact circumstances of how Karović became positioned at the window remain unclear from available accounts. Ryanair has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident or the condition of those involved.
The incident raises questions about aircraft structural integrity and emergency procedures during in-flight failures. Investigators will examine the engine failure that triggered the window breach and assess whether safety protocols were followed during the emergency. The aircraft's safe return indicates that crew response and emergency systems functioned as designed. Ryanair will be required to report the incident to aviation regulators for formal investigation.
