MAHOMES DANCING AT KELCE-SWIFT WEDDING, MCAFEE REPORTS
Pat McAfee attended Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's wedding on 3 July at Madison Square Garden and reported on his show that Patrick Mahomes was dancing on the dance floor during celebrations. McAfee stated that the entire Kansas City Chiefs team was present at the event, which drew over 1,000 guests. McAfee said the wedding was "the greatest night of all time" and shared details from the event whilst broadcasting live from the Home Run Derby. The observation came as McAfee provided an injury update on Mahomes.
Mahomes tore his anterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament in Week 15 of last season and has undergone rehabilitation since. In late June, Mahomes told GQ magazine that his recovery was "going good" and he had "got used to it now." According to reporting from SI's Albert Breer, Mahomes participated in individual and seven-on-seven drills throughout the spring offseason programme. Breer reported that Mahomes' throwing arm "has looked good" and that he was "trending towards being cleared for 11-on-11 work at the start of camp."
The Kansas City Chiefs indicated they plan to manage Mahomes' return carefully in early training, despite his competitive nature. Mahomes' participation in both the wedding celebrations and offseason conditioning work suggested progress towards his target of starting in Week 1 of the upcoming season. The Chiefs' cautious approach reflected awareness that Mahomes would likely push himself once cleared to return to full activity.
